Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
